WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — November 3, 2026. John M. Erickson, a West Hollywood City Councilmember and former mayor, is on California’s general election ballot for state Senate District 24. His opponent, Brian Goldsmith, is also running as a Democrat. The race will choose a successor to state Senator Ben Allen, who is running for a different statewide office.

A local-government record at the center of the campaign

Erickson’s campaign describes his service on the West Hollywood City Council and previous work with community organizations. The campaign highlights renter protections, housing, homelessness programs, public safety and city finances. These are the campaign’s descriptions of its candidate’s record, not an independent audit of every accomplishment claimed.

District 24 includes coastal Los Angeles County communities such as Santa Monica and Malibu. Erickson’s West Hollywood office is central to his political biography, but his former municipal constituency should not be confused with the boundaries of the state Senate district.

Where voters can find his campaign online

In addition to his campaign website, Erickson has campaign accounts listed by Ballotpedia on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X and TikTok (@erick_son85). Those listings identify campaign communication channels; they do not establish that a particular video was posted or recorded on Election Day.

What is known about his vote

As of this Election Day report, California58 has not independently authenticated a November 3 post showing Erickson personally casting a ballot, nor a polling location or time for him. Campaign statements, voting appearances and election results are separate facts and will be updated only as reliable evidence becomes available. No result is reported here.
